Second, you need the "Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Municipality Entrance Fee" which costs 2000 Nepali rupees per head.

The last one is the "Sagarmatha National Park Entrance Fee" which costs 3000 Nepali rupees per head.

High altitude, safety measures, and regulation

Everest base camp lies in the high Himalayas of the Khumbu region. Normally High Altitude Sickness occurs after 3000 meters. The main cause of high-altitude sickness is gaining elevation faster.

Walking fast overexerts your body and drinking less also dehydrates your body which both highly contribute to getting altitude sickness.

Walking slowly and drinking plenty is highly recommended which helps to prevent high altitude sickness. You also need to know about altitude sickness symptoms which help to take further measurements to avoid them.

Common symptoms are dizziness, vomiting, loss of appetite, over fatigue, headaches, and shortness of breathing.

Do not walk to the edge of the mountain while animals like zonkey, yaks, and mules are on the way. Always stay on the hillside for your safety.

Do not walk in the dark which provides you with the risk of an animal attack, sprained legs, or hypothermia.

Everest base camp comfort trek or luxury trek goes through a Himalayan region where weather is always unpredictable, so prepare with warm gears accordingly while trekking.

Watch out for landside areas (it is recommended to move faster in those sections)

Flying drones, shooting movies, and documentaries are illegal without special permission from government bodies. Otherwise, it is subject to being in trouble! Consult with your travel agency for a permit.

Do we stay in comfortable lodges in every place we go onwards to Everest base camp?

The comfort lodges are available till Debuche which is till the fourth night of the trek then the next day in Dingboche which is at an altitude of 4400 meters, has a room with a private toilet inside which is not as comfortable as the last four days but best one in the Himalayas.

Then onwards to Lobuche has a room with a comfortable bed but does not have a private toilet inside. The last place in Gorakshep which is at 5140 meters above sea level, has a normal room and for toilets, you have to go outside.

The reason behind not having comfortable lodges in high altitudes is that there is no permanent source of energy, as all the lodges use solar-powered energy which is not a reliable source where the weather keeps changing.

Another reason they don't have a private toilet inside the room is that the temperature mostly drops below zero. So the water turns into ice which damages all plumbing systems.

Trip to Everest Base Camp

This was my first trip to Nepal ...heard lots of exciting stories from my parents who have been to Nepal for the Annapurna base camp trek in 2008...Kumar was their guide ...now he has been operating his Trekking agency named Discover Altitude Treks.
With my parent's advice, I booked a solo trip to Nepal for the Everest base camp trek...
Kumar personally came to pick me up at the airport...had a lovely typical welcome from him... the evening we had dinner and he briefly told me everything thing related to my trek and the gear required..
Was excited to be with kumar for the trek...next day had a wonderful experience at the dangerous airport of Lukla...
Although I was worried about Altitude sickness...but was lucky as kumar told me do's and don't in high altitudes.
Finally, I made it to the base of Mt Everest and also Kalaphattar...now back to home in Australia...
Thanks to Kumar and his team of Discover Altitude for taking care and making sure that my dream of being at the base camp is accomplished.
Many many thanks and highly recommend these guys...and thanks to my parents for the best advice.

Everest base camp trek

I along with 5 other friends wanted to visit Nepal for Everest Base Camp Trek and with google, we found Discover Altitude as popular trekking and tour operating company run by experts. We decided to choose their expertise and we were right with our choice. Finally, we booked our EBC trek for August's first week. We were warmly welcomed at the airport in Kathmandu. Experienced fantastic city sightseeing with Kumar and started our dream journey to Everest with a fantastic guide and one of the founders of Discover Altitude Mr.Narayan.he was superb with his knowledge about the Himalayas and very well experienced and renowned with the local dwellers. He helped us a lot in such an altitude and took great care of us no matter how small it was. He wanted us to reach the base camp of Mt.Everest in an easy and relaxing way without any health issues and we did. Thanks to the entire team of Discover Altitude for their effort, help, and support..highly recommended this guy. and we will never hesitate to take them the second time for the Manaslu trek.

Highly experienced and superb team

I was looking for the trip which is far from the manmade concrete forests and so-called developed city and culture. After some research found Discover Altitude a local based travel company and had short and sweet inquiries with the MD Kumar Lamsal excellent in understanding our interest and recommended us to do Everest Base Camp Trek.
We accepted but with some hesitation and worrying about high altitude we flew to Kathmandu and Kumar was there to welcome us. The very next day we had excellent city tour guided by Kumar himself and we were Enlighted with the culture history and religion of Nepal. Never to miss this, highly recommended. We flew to Lukla and started our trek with Narayan as our Guide. We had excellent experience and reached EBC with 2 extra days of acclimatization.
Throughout the trek we had the magnificent view of the Himalayas, flora and fauna, Sherpas hospitalities, religion, culture. Narayan was the fantastic trekking guide with almost two decades of experience, he has huge knowledge about the Himalayas and helped us by providing comfortable lodge and tea house. And he was more like a mother he took care of us and made sure we were physically fit with the altitude.
Thanks to Discover Altitude and the team, we will be back for the next trip very soon.
Highly recommended Discover Altitude as a travel consultant.

Amazing trek, best guide and team

If you are thinking of trekking in this part of the world look no further than this company formed by our guide from our Everest base camp trek, Narayan and his partners.

We met Narayan in 2018 and couldn’t have been luckier with our choice of guide, his knowledge, skills, love and respect of his country and its inhabitants is amazing and it really made our trek, his attention to detail in making sure that each of us were comfortable at all times was very reassuring.

He and his team walked with each of us at all stages, medical checks, food, accommodation, safety, nothing left out, he even assisted other parties and was training some of his porters to be guides at the same time!

The trip really was one of the best things I have ever done on my travels, and yes Narayan, Annapurna is still in my list so I will be in touch again soon, wishing you all the best with your new company, I am sure you will make it a success, take care my friend, love to your family. Rich

EBC with Discover Altitude, perfect adventure

Discover Altitude was extremely helpful from start to finish!
Friends of ours suggested using Narayan and his services and after completion of the trip we are happy to say: it was perfect!
You can tell that he has 20+ years of experience trekking up to the EBC aa he knows EVERYTHING from lodges, cafes, and the surrounding places
Being fluent in English, he would give every detail of the mountain peaks, their heights, and how and when they were first summited.
What is extraordinary was the way Narayan looked after our group and provided extra services that aren’t easy to get in those remote locations.
He went out of his way to make sure we were well cared for and it was an experience of a lifetime we will never forget.
