Amazing tour to everest

This was my short visit to Nepal and was my first as well. I always wanted to explore the Himalayas from close range but I expected the fact that I am not fit for the trek.
Kumar the MD of Discover Altitude Treks recommended me to explore the Himalayas in a short span of time and was really an amazing 4hours trip with landing at the Kalapatthar. Will always recommend those who are for a short time to Nepal.
Thank you Kumar for making my dream come true.

Great trip to Everest Base Camp

The trip to Everest Base Camp with my friends was the most amazing adventure. It was very well organised by Kumar and the team. The guide and the Porter they had provided us during our entire trip were amazing. I would highly recommend Discovery Altitude Pvt. Ltd if somebody is willing to go for the trek to Nepal in the future.

Trip to Everest Base Camp

This was my first trip to Nepal ...heard lots of exciting stories from my parents who have been to Nepal for the Annapurna base camp trek in 2008...Kumar was their guide ...now he has been operating his Trekking agency named Discover Altitude Treks.
With my parent's advice, I booked a solo trip to Nepal for the Everest base camp trek...
Kumar personally came to pick me up at the airport...had a lovely typical welcome from him... the evening we had dinner and he briefly told me everything thing related to my trek and the gear required..
Was excited to be with kumar for the trek...next day had a wonderful experience at the dangerous airport of Lukla...
Although I was worried about Altitude sickness...but was lucky as kumar told me do's and don't in high altitudes.
Finally, I made it to the base of Mt Everest and also Kalaphattar...now back to home in Australia...
Thanks to Kumar and his team of Discover Altitude for taking care and making sure that my dream of being at the base camp is accomplished.
Many many thanks and highly recommend these guys...and thanks to my parents for the best advice.

Everest base camp trek

I along with 5 other friends wanted to visit Nepal for Everest Base Camp Trek and with google, we found Discover Altitude as popular trekking and tour operating company run by experts. We decided to choose their expertise and we were right with our choice. Finally, we booked our EBC trek for August's first week. We were warmly welcomed at the airport in Kathmandu. Experienced fantastic city sightseeing with Kumar and started our dream journey to Everest with a fantastic guide and one of the founders of Discover Altitude Mr.Narayan.he was superb with his knowledge about the Himalayas and very well experienced and renowned with the local dwellers. He helped us a lot in such an altitude and took great care of us no matter how small it was. He wanted us to reach the base camp of Mt.Everest in an easy and relaxing way without any health issues and we did. Thanks to the entire team of Discover Altitude for their effort, help, and support..highly recommended this guy. and we will never hesitate to take them the second time for the Manaslu trek.

Highly experienced and superb team

I was looking for the trip which is far from the manmade concrete forests and so-called developed city and culture. After some research found Discover Altitude a local based travel company and had short and sweet inquiries with the MD Kumar Lamsal excellent in understanding our interest and recommended us to do Everest Base Camp Trek.
We accepted but with some hesitation and worrying about high altitude we flew to Kathmandu and Kumar was there to welcome us. The very next day we had excellent city tour guided by Kumar himself and we were Enlighted with the culture history and religion of Nepal. Never to miss this, highly recommended. We flew to Lukla and started our trek with Narayan as our Guide. We had excellent experience and reached EBC with 2 extra days of acclimatization.
Throughout the trek we had the magnificent view of the Himalayas, flora and fauna, Sherpas hospitalities, religion, culture. Narayan was the fantastic trekking guide with almost two decades of experience, he has huge knowledge about the Himalayas and helped us by providing comfortable lodge and tea house. And he was more like a mother he took care of us and made sure we were physically fit with the altitude.
Thanks to Discover Altitude and the team, we will be back for the next trip very soon.
Highly recommended Discover Altitude as a travel consultant.

FAQs

Q1. How difficult/hard is Three Passes Trek?

Three Pass Trek is a challenging trek; to accomplish the entire trek a trekker needs to be physically and mentally fit. As the trek will lead us to an elevation of above 5000 meters frequently, so it’s very challenging.

To complete the trek one needs to have some physical training before they start. Fitness level and stamina mainly determine three passes trek, so regular exercise such as swimming, jogging, hiking, cycling, etc will definitely benefit a trekker.

Q2. Can we visit Everest Base Camp during Three Pass Trek?

Three Passes Trek includes Kongma La Pass (5535 m), Cho La Pass (5368 m), and Renjo La Pass (5360 m) and two peaks climbing Chhukung Ri 5546 m and Gokyo Ri 5357 m and also the Everest Base Camp 5364 m and Kalapatthar 5545 m.

This makes the 18 days trek a circuit of the Everest region including Three Pass into the Himalayas and Everest Base Camp.

Q3. Are there sufficient amount of accommodation facilities in the Three Passes Trek?

Three Passes Trek is a challenging trek but not impossible, due to the flow of tourists from around the world the region is filled with lodges, tea house,s, and some excellent hotels till Namche Bazaar.

As the Everest region has dimensional trekking areas, but some areas are still remote in terms of modern facilities. Now, normally we will find Wi-Fi facilities in many of the lodges/tea houses (it depends upon the weather as well).

Three Passes Trek is all to the Sagarmatha Conservation Area, so there is a restriction on the number of lodges and tea house to be operated and also the tea house and lodges are with a number of limited rooms and basic facilities due to the restriction by the conservation committee but to the lower altitude till Namche Bazaar we can find a sufficient number of lodges and tea house, as we descend uphill the number of tea house and lodges diminish due to high altitude and other problem including harsh weather condition.

Q4. Can we charge our electronic gadgets in the Three Passes Trek?

Every lodge and tea house in the Everest region has sufficient amount of electricity facilities, till Namche Bazzar they use a small community hydropower project for electricity but as we climb uphill the lodges and tea house use a solar panel for the supply of electricity, by paying some reasonable amount of money we can charge our mobile, camera and other gadgets.

But we need to may sure there will not be any charging facilities ( charging point) inside the room of the hotel, all the charging point will be at the hotel counter, so we charge our gadgets and pay the money, it is better recommended to carry extra battery during the trek into the Himalayas of Nepal.

Q5. Do we need special training for the Three Passes Trek?

Three Passes Trek is a challenging trek in the Everest region of the high Himalayas. We frequently hike above 5000 meters, which includes three high passes, two peak hiking, Kalapatthar hike, and Everest Base Camp hike. All these need some extra energy and stamina, for this, we need to do some physical training back home before the trek.

Physical exercises such as cycling, swimming, jogging, hiking, etc will help us to increase our stamina. There is no difficult climbing in the entire trek but the only point is slow hiking all the way, for this, we need to make sure we are physically and mentally well prepared for the trek.
