Furthermore, the trail will be more exciting for any trekkers who dare to do the Gokyo Ri, Everest Base Camp, and Kala Patthar making it happen to be ‘The Everest Circuit Trek’.

It’s not just a hike in the mountains, it’s a challenging and more exciting trek to do on the earth above the Alps, with magnificent views of large numbers of Himalayas along with Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Ama Dablam and many more...the trek makes you feel like being in the real paradise on the earth.

Starting from Lukla the gateway to the Khumbu and the Everest region of the high Himalayas, the trail will lead you to the capital city of the Himalayas the Namche Bazaar, or the city of the Sherpas the abode of the Himalayas.

Passing through the beautiful scenery of the hills and challenging trails and suspension bridges connecting the snow-melted rivers, you will be able to learn about the culture and history of the Sherpa community.

All throughout the trail, the praying flags hanging around and the Mane (Praying wheel) will soothe the inner peace. Above all, the visit to the Ama Dablam Base Camp and the Everest Base Camp and also the closest views of the four highest mountains on the earth Mt. Everest, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Makalu, and Mt. Lhotse will be a lifetime experience for any of the trekkers.

Further, the trade route of the ancient period can be seen; making it possible for the people of this region to survive through the barter system during those days across the Himalayas. Finally ending in Kathmandu with the city tour to some of the world Heritage sites the journey will lead you back to your hometown.

15 day Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Lakes Trek with Chola Pass

15-day Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Lakes Trek with Chola Pass.
Let me start off by saying... DO IT!!!.
It was the most amazing and memorable experience I have ever had.
If I could give a 100 stars, I would!!!!
Where can I start? We booked this trip on very short notice. The 15-day trek of Everest Base camp and Gokyo lakes with Cholo pass.
Our guide was the amazing Bikram Khadka or as we called him BK Daai (Dai meaning older brother).

We met Kumar, Santosh & BK Dai in Thamel, Kathmandu, a couple of days before. Spoke over the plan and what to expect on the trek, including potential altitude sickness, and paid the rest of what we owed, (paying the deposit while we were still in the UK). BK dai also helped us get little bits and bobs from Kathmandu for our trek, like renting sleeping bags, etc., which was helpful.

We knew we were in the monsoon season, so we knew what to expect. In Kathmandu, our flight to Lukla was delayed, with BK Dai worrying we might have to get it. Luckily, after about a 2-hour wait, we were lucky, and our flight went through, luck being the keyword for our whole trip.

On our trek, BK Dai had us put in the best available room, where available and made sure we were extremely comfortable (it being off-season helped with this as more availability).

The hike from Lukla to Phakding was hard, in the heat, but we made it in 3 hours. Had a sleep at a really nice hotel. The next day we left around 7 am (the usual time we started hiking throughout the whole trip) and made our way to Namche Bazaar. He made sure we were okay all the way through, explained interesting facts and points throughout the trip, and most importantly thing, made us laugh all the way through this trip. In Namche, we stayed at the Footrest Lodge, where he introduced us to his friend Gopal, an amazing and hard-working person. We stayed there 2 nights to acclimatize. After the first night, we had a clear morning, and BK Dai woke us up at around 5:30 am to take us to our first and only sighting of Everest, which was amazing. Due to the clouds, throughout the trip it was difficult. That was BK Dai, he always woke up early to see how the weather was and made sure we got the best things to see.

Our initial plan was to go to Gokyo first and then to Everest Base Camp, but BK dai recommended, we should do the Everest Base Camp first, as Gokyo Lake/Cholo pass is extremely difficult, which it was (not for the faint-hearted, but amazingly rewarding).
We agreed and went on the route to Everest.

We made our way up the trek staying over in a couple of towns, stopping in Pheriche to acclimatise then Lobuche one night before we made it to Gorakshep. On the day we arrived at Gorakshep, we dropped our bags and went straight to Everest Base Camp, which was a tad bit treacherous, with land/rock slides and loose rocks being the path and nothing else. But, BK Dai knew exactly what and where he was going, which was comforting.

The next day it was far too cloudy for Kalapatthar, so we headed back down to make our way to Gokyo Lakes. We stayed in Dzongla for the night and early next morning made our way to Gokyo Lakes through Chola Pass, and it was probably the hardest thing, way harder than the Everest Base Camp Trek. It was amazing, exciting, dangerous, and adrenaline-pumping. There were moments when we had to climb using ropes, walk over glaciers, encounter heavy snow, and the last 1 hour or so, vertically climb a cliff face. It was exhausting, but my god it was rewarding. Gokyo Lake was beautiful, but again, heavy clouds prevented us from going to Gokyo Ri.

We were lucky many times throughout this trip, we never got altitude sickness, and as BK Dai always said, if you are hungry it's a good sign, which I was, all the time. We were also very lucky with the weather on some days, the views, the flight to Lukla & back. There were others we met going down, who didn't even see Everest or missed their flight and had to trek for 3 days and then get a jeep.

Throughout this trip, we made many friends, clients from abroad, and guides and porters.

BK dai to use was more than a guide, he was more than a friend, he was like our brother. I am not sure what this trip would have been like without him, he made it perfect and went beyond his work. From the bottom of my heart, I have nothing but love from him for making this amazing.

It's incredible how much I miss him, all his stories, his jokes, his energetic personality.
I can't wait to see him already.

Thank you, I will never forget this in my lifetime.

With a heartfelt love,

Best place to assist trek

I have completed 14 14-day Annapurna trek with Discover Altitude.
I was born and raised up in a metropolitan. The materialist surroundings are around me from the day I opened my eyes. But, something was always lacking inside. Every single day, I wanted to go away from all this. Later on I explored that my inner being resided in nature i.e. mountains, Himalayan, forest, etc. Then I searched to go for a mountain expedition.

In a random search, I contacted Discover Altitude and booked the earlier mentioned trek.
Throughout the trek, the people from Discover Altitude were very cosy and friendly. Especially, Kumar sir and Basu swami were compassionate more than a human can be expected for. They behaved me not as client but as a friend whom they had known for a long. All the arrangements and the food they provided were very hygienic and according to my preference.
Thanks to the whole team of Discover Altitude.

2 day private tour Kathmandu

To see and experience Kathmandu in just 2 days including a sunrise in the Himalayas and a slaughter ritual is a challenge. But with Kumar, it works in a relaxed atmosphere. He feels good where your interests lie. This makes the experience even more intense in a relaxed way.
I can recommend him.

FAQs

Q1. How difficult/hard is Three Passes Trek?

Three Pass Trek is a challenging trek; to accomplish the entire trek a trekker needs to be physically and mentally fit. As the trek will lead you to an elevation of above 5000 meters frequently, so it’s very challenging.

To complete the trek one needs to have some physical training before they start. Fitness level and stamina mainly determine three passes trek, so regular exercise such as swimming, jogging, hiking, cycling, etc will definitely benefit a trekker.

Q2. Can we trek Everest Base Camp during Three Pass together?

Three Passes Trek includes Kongma La Pass (5535M), Cho La Pass (5368M), and Renjo La Pass (5360M) and two peaks climbing Chhukung Ri 5546M and Gokyo Ri 5357M and also the Everest Base Camp 5364M and Kalapatthar 5545M.

This makes the 17 days trek a circuit of the Everest region including Three Pass into the Himalayas and Everest Base Camp.

Q3. Are there sufficient accommodation facilities in the Three Passes Trek?

Three Pass Trek is a challenging trek and doable, due to the flow of tourists from around the world the region is filled with lodges, tea houses, and some excellent hotels to Namche Bazaar.

As the Everest region has diverse trekking areas, but some areas are still remote in terms of modern facilities. Now, normally you will find Wi-Fi facilities in many of the lodges/tea houses (it depends upon the weather as well).

Three Passes Trek is all to the Sagarmatha Conservation Area, so there is a restriction on the number of lodges and tea houses to be operated also the tea house and lodges are with a number of limited rooms and basic facilities due to the restriction by the conservation committee.

However, to the lower altitude till Namche Bazaar, you can find a sufficient number of lodges and tea houses, as you descend uphill the number of tea houses and lodges diminish due to high altitude.

Q4. Can we charge our electronic gadgets in the Three Passes Trek?

Every lodge and tea house in the Everest region has a sufficient amount of electricity facilities, till Namche Bazaar they use a small community hydropower project for electricity but as you climb uphill the lodges and tea houses also use a solar panel for the supply of electricity, by paying a certain sum of money you can charge mobile, camera and other gadgets.

However, this charging point will not be inside your room, all the charging points will be at the tea house reception. So charge your gadgets and pay the money, it is better recommended to carry a power bank during the trek into the Himalayas of Nepal.

Q5. Do we need special training for the Three Passes Trek?

Three Passes Trek is a challenging trek in the Everest region of the high Himalayas. Your hike will be above 5000 meters this includes three high passes, two peak hiking, the Kalapatthar hike, and the Everest Base Camp hike. All these need some extra stamina, so you need to do some physical training back home before the trek which will help you.

Physical exercises such as cycling, swimming, jogging, hiking, etc will help to increase your stamina. There is no difficult climbing in the entire trek but the only point is slow hiking all the way, for this, you need to make sure you are physically and mentally well prepared for the trek.
