Our trek to Everest begins after lading to Lukla Airport which itself is one of the most exciting airports in the Himalayan kingdom, situated at the altitude of 2840M. We hike through the alpine forest filled with numerous rhododendron trees, the snow melted rivers and streams, passing by suspension bridges decorated with praying flags to enter Sagarmatha National Conservation Area, which itself is the UNESCO listed natural and cultural heritage site of Nepal. Further hiking for an hour we will be at Namche Bazaar, the regional headquarters of the entire Everest region, and also the highest settlement area of the Sherpa community at the altitude of 3446M.
Spending an extra day to explore the surrounding villages, gompas, and monasteries, and also to acclimatize ourselves to further ascend uphill we will enter into the bare and dry deserted region of the high Himalayas. As we ascend, we will be closer to the Himalayas with less vegetation. This will make our visibility higher and clear to explore the enchanting snow-capped Himalayas which includes Mt. Passing by Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche we will reach Gorakshep the last overnight camp at the highest altitude (5364M), and then a short hike will be conducted on the same day to explore the Base of the Highest Mountain which is Mt. Everest. Spending a couple of hours at the base camp of Mt. Everest we descend back to Gorakshep for the overnight stay at our lodge. On the very morning of the next day, we will hike to Kalapatthar for the astonishing view of the wide range of the Himalayas of the Everest Region and the first rays of the sunlight falling upon the snow-crapped Himalayas will be one of the lifetime memories to remember.
As per our itinerary, we will descend back to Lukla in 3 days to take a short flight to Kathmandu carrying lovely memories of the Himalayas and unforgettable hospitalities of the Sherpa people.
